The Launch Point for Digital Futures

The Summer Intensive is All Star Code's flagship program: a live, virtual technical training sprint designed for high school-aged male-identifying students from access-seeking communities.

Delivered over six weeks, this intensive builds fluency in front-end web development, foundational AI literacy, and critical systems thinking. The program serves as the entry point into Launching Digital Futures (LDF), our structured career pathway spanning high school through workforce placement.

Who We Serve
  • Male-identifying rising freshmen to seniors from underrepresented backgrounds in tech
  • Motivated learners seeking technical skills and the confidence to navigate the tech industry

A Pipeline, Not a Program

Our framework spans three critical phases, designed to move Scholars from exposure through mobility.

Phase 1
Tech Exposure
High School
Crack the Code, Summer Intensive, Capstone Projects
Phase 2
Tech Pathways
College
Scholar Services, Interview Prep, Resume Workshops
Phase 3

Depth Over Speed

We prioritize mastery over quick completion. Population-specific design means the program is built for our Scholars, not adapted from generic curricula.

  • Mindset as Core Outcome: Confidence and resilience alongside technical skill
  • Proof of Work Over Credentials: Portfolios and projects that demonstrate capability
  • Community as Infrastructure: Brotherhood provides lasting support systems

In Their Own Words

When I first came in, I only knew a little Python and wasn't really sure what coding was. But after three weeks, I started understanding HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and now I feel confident pursuing a field like software engineering or cybersecurity. At first, I wasn't sure if tech was for me, but All Star Code made me realize it definitely is.

Ibraheem S.
Scholar

I feel like I am much more versed in coding, I am better at communication, I gained connections, I am better at asking for help and networking, and plenty more. It was a large growth experience.

Mathias A.
Scholar

This program exceeded my expectations! I thought this was just a boring coding program but in reality it was so much fun working on the creative projects and talking to my peers. I also want to thank the program for providing me with so much support, especially with my tech issues.

Kelvin Y.
Scholar

I am so grateful Gio and I had this opportunity to meet you and your team. You made a kid with an IEP believe that he is worth it, and that alone makes it a blessing!

Why Coding Still Matters

As AI tools become more advanced, some question whether students should still learn to code. Coding remains essential because it develops the capacity to understand and shape systems, not merely use them.

  • Trains algorithmic thinking and intentional problem-solving under constraints
  • Builds computational literacy, enabling critical evaluation of AI behavior and bias
  • Grants agency: the ability to understand systems, build alternatives, and resist extraction
  • Transforms students from passive users into capable creators and decision-makers

The goal is not rote memorization but genuine comprehension: understanding how systems operate, who controls them, and how to build something better.
